Florist takes the leap to open first bricks and mortar store in Northampton after almost two decades in the industry
A florist has taken the leap to open her first bricks and mortar store in Northampton after almost two decades in the industry.
Claire Hall has been working in floristry on and off for the past 18 years, having completed her first course in 2008.
“I always wanted to open a flower shop,” Claire told the Chronicle & Echo. “I had a corporate career spanning 15 years alongside my love for floristry. In January, I decided it was something I was going to do part-time and then this space came up a month ago.”
Claire Hall Floral Design is now open in St Crispin Retail Village, and the founder proudly offers traditional floristry with a love for bright colours, texture and interior design. Claire sees the store as an “expansion of her home”.

The business opened to the public on May 15 and has already been praised as a great addition, with Duston residents having missed the presence of a florist in the local area.
Claire Hall Floral Design is located in the main courtyard in the corner next to Clippers N Curls and opposite Hops and Chops.
When asked her aims for the new venture, Claire said: “I want to be the local florist that people know, enjoy coming to and buying from. I want to be a retail shop florist, known for good quality flowers and lovely gifts.
“I’m a fully qualified florist with a deep passion for art, textile and surface design and that comes across in the work I do. This isn’t just a fad, it’s a real lifestyle choice, a passion and something I’ve wanted for a long time.”

Claire will soon be releasing dates for workshops to create hand-tied bouquets, table arrangements and seasonal designs at Halloween and Christmas time. The welcoming space was designed with workshops in mind, with a central island for groups to enjoy.
