A new restaurant providing an authentic taste of Turkey opens its doors in Daventry tomorrow (Thursday, November 19).

Mayor Lynne Taylor will be cutting the ribbon to officially open Alacati Grill on High Street at 2pm.

Owner Mahmut Raydemir said he was excited to be trading in Daventry and looking forward to coronavirus lockdown restrictions being lifted.

“At Alacati, we will be providing delivery and collection/takeaway," he said.

“We will have another opening event once we are all allowed to go out again.”

Alacati's menu includes hot and cold meze dishes, pide - Turkey's take on pizza, moussakas, casseroles, kebabs, wraps, fish, burgers, desserts and a kids menu.

Mahmut added: “We wanted to have entertainment like belly dancing for the opening event and also tasting sessions, but all these plans have had to be shelved for now.”
