Through the week, shoppers arrived at the centre early, excited to be among the first to browse the aisles of their favourite stores.

Queue management was in place throughout the centre, most notably at popular retailers like H&M and Primark, with staff managing the flow of customers in and out of their store.

Guests were also seen to be enjoying the sunshine and views of the lake, making the most of the Camper Cones boardwalk seating.

Centre manager at Rushden Lakes, Donna French, said: “The last lockdown was particularly tough for many, and we couldn’t be happier to start getting back to normality.

"From our cleaning staff to the store managers, everyone here at the centre is thrilled to welcome back visitors to the centre.

"There’s a real buzz here at Rushden Lakes, and I’d like to extend a personal thank you to all that have come down to support us since the re-opening.

“Thank you to all shoppers who have so far been complying with social distancing rules while in and around the centre, as well as observing and following individual store guidelines when inside the shops.”
