Rushden Lakes has reported a 'real buzz' after welcoming customers back following the third lockdown.

Retailers at the popular retail and leisure complex re-opened their doors on April 12 for the first time since January following an ease in restrictions after the UK’s third national lockdown.

Restaurants also fired up their ovens to welcome back visitors for outdoor dining and indoor climbing wall, Rock Up, greeted its first post-lockdown climbers.

Through the week, shoppers arrived at the centre early, excited to be among the first to browse the aisles of their favourite stores.

Queue management was in place throughout the centre, most notably at popular retailers like H&M and Primark, with staff managing the flow of customers in and out of their store.

Guests were also seen to be enjoying the sunshine and views of the lake, making the most of the Camper Cones boardwalk seating.

Centre manager at Rushden Lakes, Donna French, said: “The last lockdown was particularly tough for many, and we couldn’t be happier to start getting back to normality.

"From our cleaning staff to the store managers, everyone here at the centre is thrilled to welcome back visitors to the centre.

"There’s a real buzz here at Rushden Lakes, and I’d like to extend a personal thank you to all that have come down to support us since the re-opening.

“Thank you to all shoppers who have so far been complying with social distancing rules while in and around the centre, as well as observing and following individual store guidelines when inside the shops.”

The centre management team continue to take every precaution to ensure staff and visitors' safety, including additional cleaning and hygiene measures and asking visitors to comply with social distancing and mask-wearing rules at all times, unless exempt.

Any announcement of store updates will be included on the Rushden Lakes website and social media pages.
