Pubs, clubs, cafes and restaurants in Northampton are going to have work hard to win the hearts and minds of customers when they fully reopen, according to the latest Chron survey.

A total of 527 people responded to the Bank Holiday weekend snap survey on a range of issues related to lockdown.

While customers in Northampton have been hugely supportive of local takeaways and deliveries, they are not so comfortable about returning to sitting down and eating or drinking, even in outdoor areas.

We asked readers how they felt about a number of leisure activities.

On visiting popular destinations such as country parks, beaches and beauty spots, it was a straight split between those comfortable and not comfortable.

But there was an overwhelming majority were not comfortable with taking flights to European destinations.

Visiting popular destinations such as beaches, parks and beauty spots - 18% were very comfortable, 29% were somewhat comfortable, 26% were not very comfortable and 25% were not at all comfortable. The remainder were not sure or not applicable.

Going to pubs/bars with outdoor areas - 13% were very comfortable, 24.29% were somewhat comfortable, 25% were not very comfortable and 34.% were not at all comfortable. The remainder were not sure or not applicable.

Eating at cafes/ restaurants - 10% were very comfortable, 20% were somewhat comfortable, 27% were not very comfortable and 41% were not at all comfortable. The remainder were not sure or not applicable.

Taking flights to European holiday destinations - 8% were very comfortable, 10% were somewhat comfortable, 12.7% were not very comfortable and 63% were not at all comfortable. The remainder were not sure or not applicable.

We also asked to what extent do you think allowing each of the following leisure activities to take place poses a risk of a second wave of coronavirus infections?

Visiting popular destinations such as beaches, parks and beauty spots - 17% thought very high risk, 24% high risk, 33% moderate risk, 16% low risk, 8% very low risk

Going to pubs/bars with outdoor areas - 24% thought very high risk, 27% high risk, 31% moderate risk, 11% low risk, 4% very low risk

Eating at cafes/ restaurants - 28% thought very high risk, 31% high risk, 28% moderate risk, 9% low risk, 3% very low risk

Taking flights to European holiday destinations - 52% thought high risk, 22% high risk, 17% moderate risk, 5% low risk and 2% very low risk.
