A Northampton-based men's footwear manufacturer, Denton's Footwear, has joined forces with a charity very close to its heart to support vital programmes for young people through its sales.

The fine footwear company run by Camilla Denton has chosen The Mintridge Foundation, a national charity also based in Northampton and run by Camilla's cousin Alex Wallace, to support. They are donating some of their sales to help fund the brilliant work the charity does with enhancing life skills in young people through sport.

Denton's (as we know it today) was established by Camilla in December 2019 but the business has family roots that date right back to 1840. The company manufactures and sell high-quality men's shoes online such as brogues and the classic Chelsea Boot.

Camilla, from Sywell in Northamptonshire, expressed the partnership was a no-brainer. She said: "The charity partnership was something I knew we had to do. Alex, the founder of Mintridge and also my very close cousin, helped me tremendously with the set up of Denton's providing advice and ideas.

"I am also personally a huge supporter of the charity as I believe very strongly about getting more children into sports. It is a topic which is extremely important and one that was not supported enough, but I do think that Mintridge is helping to turn this around and inspire future sporting generations.

"I have seen the amazing work the charity does behind the scenes and I have listened first-hand to children who have had a visit from Mintridge and their non-stop chatter about the session and the smiles on their faces is amazing. If Denton's can help even a little bit with supporting Mintridge to fund these vital sessions then the achievement would be well worth it."

Alex Wallace, founder and managing director of The Mintridge Foundation, said: "This is a very special partnership to me, Camilla is my fantastic cousin who I have grown up with and we are part of a very close-knit family, I am very proud of her work. We both are from an entrepreneurial background and want to support one another, no matter how different our industries are. Not only that, the business is local and has a huge amount of heritage in Northamptonshire.

"We are extremely grateful that customers of Denton's can now give back and choose to donate £5 of their purchase directly to us. Every donation does really count and can help to make a huge difference.

"I would urge people that are looking for a decent pair of high-quality shoes to support a local, independent business and at the same time donate to charity, for no extra cost. It really does help us to raise vital funds to allow us to be able to support and mentor young people across the country. Without all of our corporate partners' valued support we wouldn't be able to reach the number of young people that we do."
