Character pub in Northampton offered on new lease as site remains closed to public
A prominent Kingsthorpe pub has been placed on the market, offering a potential comeback for a building that is currently closed to the public.
The Old Five Bells, located just over two miles north of Northampton town centre, is a two‑storey stone-built property featuring timber‑beamed trading rooms on the ground floor and substantial private accommodation above. The first floor includes four double bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, shower room, separate WC and an office, according to the agents’ details.
Outside, the site includes a paved rear patio and a large car park with capacity for more than 60 vehicles — a notable asset in a busy suburb where parking can be at a premium. Fleurets has offered the property on a new free‑of‑tie lease with a guide rent set at £40,000 per year.
Andy Tudor, divisional director at Fleurets Midlands, said the building “lends itself well to a variety of trading styles” and pointed to its size and parking as advantages for a new operator seeking to re-establish a local venue.

The Old Five Bells is currently closed and viewings are by appointment only through Fleurets’ Midlands office. Interested parties have been directed to contact the agents by phone or email for further information.
