Boohoo promises 1,000 jobs with new Wellingborough distribution centre

A popular online fashion retailer is promising its new distribution centre in Wellingborough will create 1,000 new jobs.

Boohoo first launched in 2006 selling women and men's fashion and now has more than 10 million followers on social media.

And it has confirmed that it is set to open a new warehouse in the town later this year, bringing with it hundreds of new jobs.

A spokesman for Boohoo told the Northants Telegraph: "Boohoo is delighted to have announced that it will be opening a new warehouse in Wellingborough in April this year.

"The site will be utilised by the Nasty Gal, Karen Millen, Coast, Oasis and Warehouse brands.

"The opening will see the creation of around 1,000 new jobs at a time of great uncertainty for people in the UK.”

Numerous jobs are being advertised online for the new distribution centre, with roles up for grabs including team manager, shift manager, and health and safety manager.

The online job description for the planning manager says: "As a planning manager for our new distribution centre in Wellingborough you will be responsible for planning volume and resource on site to ensure we have the right people in the right place at the right time.

"You will manage the planning team and work closely with the operations team to ensure service delivery whilst balancing cost."

The company has not confirmed the exact location of its new distribution centre, but it is believed to be on the town's Park Farm industrial estate.
