Billing Aquadrome sees surge in demand as holidaymakers book summer stays earlier

A Northampton holiday park has reported a significant increase in demand for camping and touring holidays, with some peak dates selling out weeks in advance.

Billing Aquadrome said its May peak periods were fully booked around six weeks before arrival dates, with summer bookings also running ahead of the same period last year.

The holiday park, which underwent a major £14 million redevelopment following its acquisition by Meadow Bay Villages, offers 437 camping and touring pitches, including grass and hard-standing pitches, camping areas and premium "super pitches".

A spokesperson for Billing Aquadrome said the early sell-outs reflected a growing trend of holidaymakers planning UK breaks further in advance.

They said: "The demand we've seen for camping and touring breaks at Billing Aquadrome has been incredibly encouraging. Selling out our May peak weeks six weeks ahead of arrival is a fantastic result for the park and shows that more families and holidaymakers are planning UK outdoor breaks earlier than ever."

The spokesperson added that summer bookings were already significantly ahead of where they were at the same point last year, bucking the traditional trend of camping and touring holidays often being booked at the last minute.

Guests staying on the camping and touring areas have access to the park's facilities, including entertainment venues, leisure activities, fishing lakes, children's play areas and food and drink outlets.

Billing Aquadrome's peak summer entertainment programme is due to begin on July 17, ahead of the school summer holidays.

Set within 235 acres in the Nene Valley, the Northampton holiday park has become one of Meadow Bay Villages' flagship destinations following extensive investment and redevelopment works over the past year.
