Belly dancing, music and circus skills to entertain shoppers in Northampton on Saturday

The performers are taking part in Discover Northampton Live day which is organised by the Northampton Town BID organisation.

From 11am to 3pm, visitors to the shopping centre will be entertained by street performers including professional belly dance troupe Arjana Dance who will be displaying their latest choreography.

Swing and jazz singer Rebecca Jayne will take spectators through a range of classics and singalong favourites.

Visitors can also learn a circus skill or two from Messy Moss, while Northampton favourite Dapper Dan will be compering the performances.

‘Discover Northampton Live’ has been organised by Northampton Town Centre BID to encourage more visitors into the town centre and celebrate the diverse areas that make it special. ‘Discover Northampton Live’ will take place on the second Saturday of every month until October, and will focus on celebrating local talent.

Jessica D’Aulerio, Chair of Northampton Town Centre BID, said: “We had a great reaction to our first ‘Discover Northampton Live’ day in March, and are delighted to be welcoming a whole new line-up to the town centre this month. These performers include some old favourites whom visitors to Northampton have enjoyed in the past, and we’re thrilled to be welcoming them back.”
