Another shop in Northampton’s Grosvenor Centre shuts for good – and rumours surrounding closure of another store addressed
Another shop in Northampton’s Grosvenor Centre has shut for good – and rumours have been addressed surrounding the closure of another store.
Last month, Claire’s Accessories inside the Grosvenor Centre closed after going into administration.
This week, another business has left the shopping centre: iStore, an Apple Premium Reseller and Apple Authorized Service Provider based in the UK, specialising in the sale and repair of Apple products.
A spokeswoman for the Grosvenor Centre said: “We can confirm that iStore closed on Monday (May 4) following the expiry of its lease, and the unit has now been returned to us. Discussions regarding future use of the space are already under way.”

On its website, an iStore spokesman said: “With regret, this location is now permanently closed. Thank you to all our customers over the years for your support. Your nearest iStore is now Rushden Lakes. You can continue to shop with us online or contact the team below.”
The iStore held a 4.4 out of five-star rating from 769 Google reviews, with many customers praising its staff.
Rumours have also been circulating about Shoezone closing down in the shopping centre. However, the spokeswoman confirmed this is not the case.
She said: “Regarding Shoezone, the store itself has not closed. The Shoezone signage currently visible relates to a warehouse clearance sale rather than the permanent closure of the Grosvenor Centre store, and we understand that this may have been misinterpreted.”
“We can also confirm that Claire’s ceased trading on April 27, in line with the retailer’s wider decision affecting all of its UK stores and not specific to the Grosvenor Centre.”
She added: “As with any busy shopping centre, our occupier mix continues to evolve. We are actively working on plans to re-let vacated units and remain in ongoing discussions with a number of prospective retailers, with the aim of bringing new brands and experiences to the centre for our shoppers.”
Quiz, on the ground floor of the Grosvenor Centre, has also closed for good this year.
