Who-ville Dunnit? A mystery at the real ice, ice rink at Whilton Locks
There was disruption on the real ice, ice rink at Whilton Locks over the weekend
A green and mean figure appeared on the ice. He was clearly unhappy that so many people were having so much fun and looked to give out some sort of message.
Skaters were unconcerned and carried on with the skating (and the fun). One skater claimed “He was so green and mean.”
Skate marshall, Richard said “He just appeared. One minute he was wasn’t there, the next he was there. I just remember him being very green and very mean.”
An official statement from Whilton Locks, which is described as ‘the best festive fun this side of the North Pole’ stated how green and mean the protester was but vowed the fun would not stop.

UPDATE SUNDAY AM
Enquiries or possibly inquiries, as nobody really knows the difference, continue into a mysterious character that appeared on the Whilton Locks real ice, ice rink yesterday.
A motive is still unknown to why the character suddenly joined the rink. If anyone knows whoville he is please get in touch. The only clue we have is, he was green and verymean.
One lady, who was on a large banana skate aid at the time, when asked to describe it said “Yellow and loads of fun!” When pressed, and we pointed out we were enquiring or possibly inquiring about the mysterious character, laughed and said “Oh, he was green and very mean.”

UPDATE MONDAY AM
Hmm, happy to report, as yet, today there have been no new sightings of the mysterious character that appeared on our real ice, ice rink. This is a great shame as we have our real Christmas tree netter available and the lads were hoping to net up something furry rather than fir - ree!
We asked Neil, our chief plant head-honcho for an update, he said. “Our top quality, freshly cut, real Christmas trees will be available this week, likely to be Thursday, but we’ll keep everyone posted in due course.”
We had to point out we were actually asking about the mysterious character on the ice at the weekend, to which he replied, “Oh I don’t know but I did hear he was green and very mean.”

UPDATE MONDAY PM
Our mysterious visitor did NOT appear yesterday. Perhaps it really was a one-off?
We asked Ryan, who was really close to the rink at the time of the incident, and was running the rink side cafe to tell us about it. He said “It’s been built really close to the rink and visitors can ice skate then afterwards enjoy a delicious hot chocolate or some tasty chips.”
We pointed out we were trying to discover more about our mysterious Saturday visitor, “Oh, yes. He was green and very mean. Hot chocolate anyone?”
