Hit West End musical will return to Royal & Derngate due to ‘popular demand’

There will be eight performances of the feel-good show

A huge West End musical is set to return to Royal & Derngate due to ‘popular demand’.

Hairspray, the upbeat 60s show, is heading out on tour across the UK and Ireland from August and it is coming back to Northampton.

The Baltimore-based musical that follows Tracy Turnblad, a girl with big hair, a bigger heart and a huge dream to dance on national TV, was last performed at the Derngate back in October 2015.

This time around the cast of West End show will perform eight times over six days.

Hit songs such as ‘Welcome To The 60s’, ‘You Can’t Stop The Beat’ and ‘The Nicest Kids In Town’ will be sure to have audiences on their feet.

Hairspray will be at the Derngate from Monday October 26 until Saturday October 31, 2020 with performances at 7.30pm every night.

There will be additional matinee performances at 2.30pm on Wednesday October 28 and Saturday October 31.

Ticket prices range from £11 to £49 and are sold on a 'fill from the front' system.
