Award-winning Northampton home care provider is inviting members of the local community to come together for tea and conversation next week as part of Nutrition and Hydration Week.

Homelium Care Northampton will be hosting a World Tea Party event designed to raise awareness of the importance of staying hydrated and maintaining good nutrition, particularly for older people on Wednesday 18th March at the Phab Centre, Northampton.

The event will bring together local residents, family carers and members of the community for a relaxed morning of free hot drinks and snacks, conversation and wellbeing advice. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about how small changes in daily routines can make a big difference to health and wellbeing.

Staying hydrated can become more difficult as people age, with many older adults not always feeling thirsty even when their body needs fluids. This can increase the risk of dehydration, which can lead to dizziness, confusion and other health complications.

Homelium Care Northampton hopes the event will encourage more conversations around nutrition and hydration, while also providing a welcoming space for people to connect with others in the community.

Aude N’Tandou, care manager at Homelium Care Northampton, said: "Events like our World Tea Party are a lovely way to bring people together while also raising awareness about something really important. Hydration and good nutrition play such a vital role in maintaining health and wellbeing, especially for older adults.

We want people to feel comfortable coming along for a cup of tea, having a friendly chat and learning more about the small things that can help keep themselves or their loved ones well."

Homelium Care Northampton regularly hosts community initiatives aimed at supporting local residents and family carers, including Ask Homelium advice stands and community events designed to help people better understand the support available to them.

The World Tea Party will take place next week on March 18, 10am-noon, at the Phab Centre, 11 Sheraton Mews, Sheraton Cl, Northampton NN3 2NL as part of Nutrition and Hydration Week and anyone interested in learning more about supporting the wellbeing of older loved ones is welcome to attend.
