New Dementia Cafe will open its doors on 15th November at the Abbey Centre in East Hunsbury. Hosted by Bluebird Care.

There is a real shortage of Dementia support groups locally, and new Registered Care Manager, Kelly Mennim set out to create a safe space which supports families and those affected by memory loss.

Kelly has wanted to run a Dementia Cafe for some years now as there is just not enough support out there for families. Having established new office space within the Abbey Centre she was able to secure a room each week and get the wheels in motion!

The group will run every Friday at 13.30 within the Abbey Centre and everyone is welcome. It is really important to everyone at Bluebird Care that we are able to give back to our local community.

Refreshments will be available and we hope to secure donations from companies to gather a range of memory games and activities.

Kelly and her team will be on-hand to talk with anyone who requires support, but essentially it's a social group where everyone supports each other.
