Ecton Brook set for a magical Christmas celebration in memory of Sally Jane Jordan

Ecton Brook is gearing up for a truly special day of festive cheer on Saturday December 20 as the community honours the late Sally Jane Jordan, the former chair of the Ecton Brook Residents Group who started the area’s much-loved Christmas traditions.
This year’s celebrations are split into two parts – everyone is warmly welcome to join one, both, or just come out and wave as Santa passes by.
11am – 1pm: Santa’s Tour Around the Estate – Starting outside The Brook Doctors Surgery at 11am, Paul Clark will once again transform into Father Christmas and tour the estate in his sleigh. Children can wave from their gardens or the pavement and, receive a gift as Santa passes. All presents are kindly being funded by former ward Councillors Paul Clark & James Hill- every child gets a gift for free.
11am – 3pm: Children’s Christmas Party & Fayre at “The Jungle at Bips” The party then moves to The Jungle on Ecton Brook Road (kindly hosted by local businessman Bipin Patel) for an afternoon packed with fun. There’ll be carol singing, a children’s disco with a prize for the best dancer, Christmas stalls ideal for last-minute gifts, and plenty of seasonal cheer. Tickets are £5 per child (includes food) and are available from the post office. Adults are free with a paying child. There will also be a Christmas Fayre raising funds for Ecton Brook Residents Group.

Current Chair of the Ecton Brook Residents Group, Lena Wardle, said: “With Sally’s passing earlier this year, we are determined to keep the magic of Christmas alive and bring our community together. The Santa tour is always a highlight – children love waving as Father Christmas drives past – and then everyone is welcome at The Jungle for the disco, carols and stalls. It’s so important we continue the traditions Sally started. She is hugely missed by us all.”
Former Councillor James Hill added: “Paul, Lena, Bipin and the whole Residents Group have pulled out all the stops to make this happen. Sally would be over the moon to see her legacy continuing. Whether you join the street waves, the party at The Jungle, or both – come along and help us make this a Christmas to remember.”
So mark your calendars for Saturday 20th December: wave to Santa from 11am as he begins outside the doctors surgery, then head to The Jungle for an afternoon of festive joy – all in loving memory of Sally Jane Jordan. Everyone is welcome!
