April brings an eclectic mix of comedy to Northampton’s Royal & Derngate with gigs from Andy Zaltzman, Danny Baker and Marcel Lucont, along with another Screaming Blue Murder comedy club night.

The multi-award-winning comic Marcel Lucont brings two shows to the theatre’s Underground studio on Saturday 11 April. In the afternoon show, Les Enfants Terrible – A Gameshow for Awful Children, kids get to be pests, politicians and pétomanes competing in a series of tasks to be crowned the most awful child of the day. In the evening, the deadpan Frenchman serves up a unique Whine List of the audience’s past gripes, moans and misdemeanours, while also dishing out some of his premier erotic poetry.

Chair of Radio 4’s The News Quiz, Andy Zaltzman brings his latest stand up show The Zaltzgeist to the Royal stage on Tuesday 28 April. Host of the global hit satirical podcast The Bugle and Test Match Special statistician, Andy has firmly established himself in the vanguard of British comedy with his unique brand of inventive, incisive political satire.

Comedy writer, journalist, radio DJ and TV presenter Danny Baker entertains audiences with his latest show Aye Aye! Ahoy Hoy! on Wednesday 29 April, celebrating 50 years on the showbiz seas.
