Man dies after medical episode at top of Northampton's National Lift Tower

Police officers have confirmed to the Chronicle & Echo that the incident they were called out to yesterday (Thursday) involved the sudden death of a man at Northampton's National Lift Tower.All emergency services, including three ambulances, two fire engines and two police cars, scrambled to the scene after reports of a medical emergency at the top of the former lift-testing tower.

The air ambulance also landed at the scene.

A spokeswoman for Northamptonshire Police told the Chron today (Friday): “We were called to the sudden death of a man in Tower Square, Northampton, yesterday at about 12.30pm.

"We are not treating the death as suspicious and are preparing a report for the coroner.”
