The real life experiences of hundreds of former land girls will be depicted at Holy Sepulchre Church in Northampton.
Lillies On The Land runs from Tuesday October 6 to Saturday October 10.
It tells the story of four very different women who took the life-changing decision to defy family and convention to do their bit for the war effort. They bring together the comedy, frustrations and triumphs of their war-time experiences.
The four main characters are played by Hannah Burt, Liz Clarke, Jen Kenny and Sarah Stringer, who also bring to life the 30 minor characters mentioned in the play, from suspicious farmer’s wife to lovesick Italian prisoner-of-war.
The production is directed by Ursula Wright, who has been a member of Masque Theatre, who are producing the show, since 1997.
Performances are at 7.30pm each night except for a Saturday when a matinee can be seen at 2.30pm.
Tickets are £8 for adults and £7 concessions and students. To book tickets visit www.masquetheatre.co.uk or call 07586 288793. They are also available from St. Giles Music, 16 St. Giles Terrace, Northampton.
