White Cobra Productions presents a rare chance to see one of the most highly praised modern theatrical classics in Northampton.
It’s December 31 1999, and as the 20th century ticks away, the mysterious white faced clown Scaramouche Jones emerges from the circus ring for the very last time.
With just an hour remaining before the new millennium, he finally tells of his journey from a brothel in Trinidad to eventually arriving at The Big Top.
Justin Butcher’s classic piece of theatre weaves the real life events of a century which shaped the world we live in today, with the life story of n extraordinary character.
The play toured with the late Pete Postlethwaite in the title role.
It was a part he is said to have loved and described the script for the show as “a phenomenal piece of writing and to do it justice is extraordinary”.
The play runs for one night only at The Playhouse Theatre in Northampton on Saturday February 13 with curtain up at 7.45pm. Tickets £10 and £9 concessions from www.ticketsource.co.uk/whitecobra or call 07447 217622.
