Umbrella Festival to celebrate Northampton's diversity

Community music and arts festival the Umbrella Fair returns to the Racecourse for two days next weekend.

The event aims to brings together and celebrate the diverse community of Northampton.

Over the two days, there will be performances from across the musical spectrum on a number of stages.

These include the Umbrella stage, the alternative stage, the global mela stage, the youth stage and the spoken word stage.

There will also be stages catering for acoustic, classical, cabaret, dub and street theatre as well as music on the UFO Cafe stage.

Besides music, there will be a produce and flower show, a healing area and community arts area as well as areas for theatre and debates, equality, interfaith and LGBT discussions.

The event is run on recycled chip fat, sunshine and people power.
