Shakespeare comes to Abington museum

The Masque Theatre’s production running from Thursday July 28 to Saturday August 6 coincides with 400 years since The Bard’s death and the 601st anniversary of the battle of Agincourt which features in the play.

The play is also about the struggle of any leader attempting to establish himself and it is not without its more comic moments.

With more than 20 actors in the cast dressed in 15th century period costume, Masque hope to bring out the sense of Kingship that Henry establishes and the anticipation as he prepares to invade France in order to gain back his land.

Director, Rob Kendall, said: “Certainly the open-courtyard of Abington Museum lends itself very much to the flurry of battle and the more domestic moments of the play.”

The show starts at 7.30pm each day except for Sunday July 31 where there are no performances. Tickets are £10, £9 concessions, £6 for children up to 16 years and are available on the door.
