Pop revolutionaries The Hollies play Northampton date

The Hollies return to Northampton next week for a two hour show set to feature some of the iconic band's biggest hits.

Major players in the 1960s pop revolution, the band’s hallmark vocal harmony has not wavered throughout 50 years of continuous touring, performing and recording.

From 1963 to the mid-70s, The Hollies had more hits than The Beatles, with 18 top ten hits in that period alone.

These included the likes of Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress) which went to number one in the US charts in 1972, The Air That I Breathe, which topped the UK charts in 1974, and He Ain’t Heavy, which hit the top spot in 1988.

At the heart of The Hollies are original members drummer Bobby Elliott and singer, songwriter and lead guitarist, Tony Hicks.

The current line-up is completed by Peter Howarth, Ray Stiles, Ian Parker and Steve Lauri.

With an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music and induction into the American Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, The Hollies continue to perform with pride and passion around the world.

They headline the Northampton venue on Wednesday, November, 16.

Doors open at 7.30pm.
