“Austin is a great city and the line-up is always amazing, plus anything can be a venue, the back of a truck, a clothes shop, a car park, a college dorm - there are showcases literally everywhere.

“I can't wait to go back to this Tex Mex place called Torchy's too, it's super cheap and the best burrito you will ever eat.”

Each year, South By Southwest (SXSW) brings artists, fans and music professionals together with more than 2,000 official performers.

Gigs and showcases take place at venues across the city during six days from March 16 to March 20 and are curated by SXSW in collaboration with record labels, booking agencies, management and PR firms, publishers, media outlets and lifestyle brands.

Talking about SXSW, Malco adds: “It’s a chance to meet a bunch of new people and other artists.

“Two supports I played in the UK later that year came off the back of meeting people at SXSW.”

Looking back at 2019, she added: “Last year was pretty mad to be honest - I felt like I was on tour all year.

“I did some shows with Dawes, Jenny Lewis, The Joy Formidable, Bob Mould, Laura Stevenson and Tangled Hair.

“I'm touring in February with Leicester's ST Manville, which will be nice.

“We released a single for fun at the end of last year, which was his cover of Colorblind.

“I'll also be releasing new music throughout spring and hopefully another tour in summer with a full band.”
