A double decker bus has been transformed into a Cobblers-themed escape room in Northampton.

The escape room, which has taken three weeks to renovate, was based at the Cobblers' ground as a promo bus for escape room company Trapp'd, which has two Northampton sites.

It has now been turned into a full hour-long experience and will be based at the Billing Aquadrome branch where Trapp'd already has three escape rooms and a 'rage room', which opened on Wednesday.

Trapp'd director, David Laing, said: "The room is called 'Road to Glory' and it's the world's first football themed room.

"We have decorated it with a football locker room, a media room and then upstairs is a football pitch where you shoot balls into a goal.

"We have moved it to our site at Billing Aquadrome now and turned it into a full hour-long room, just to tap into this branch and give it a fourth room here."

David Laing, who is from Northamptonshire, has opened 15 escape rooms across five branches in the county in Corby, Kettering, Billing Aquadrome, Wellingborough and Northampton.

Up to six people can take part in Road to Glory, which opens on Tuesday (February 25)

David added: "Jim Rosenthal is doing a bit of commentary within the bus, he's a famous commentator and does a lot for BT Sport now.

"You don't need to have any knowledge of football to be a player. A lot of people might think 'I'm not into football, I don't know who Harry Kane is, or whatever' but you don't need to know.

"It's the same as any other escape room, it's just themed around a football experience where you have to score the winning goals and lift the trophy."
