Medieval fun for the family

A feast fit for a king has been planned as part of celebrations for the fourth Wellingborough Medieval Festival.

To mark the event, one of the town’s most popular eating establishments has launched a special medieval banquet for hungry visitors.

The menu at Ye Golden Lion located on Sheep Street, forms part of a day of entertainment and family activities this weekend.

Dance troupe Passamezzo are set to perform and medieval characters Juan the Jester and Minstrel Tom will be mingling with visitors.

Children’s entertainer Lullaby Leesa and her puppets will also be there, alongside the Dancing Bear, medieval cooking expert Sarah Stockdale and top professional falconer Gary Baxter of Backwoods Falconry.

There are activities for all the family starting from 10am on Saturday through to 4pm on Sunday across various locations.

Medieval market stalls will be set up for visitors to browse and dance classes will take place across the weekend.
