Invited to perform after a sell-out run of Macbeth at the Brighton Fringe last year, the theatre group will be performing across five days there in late August 2016.

Artistic Director Chris Lynch has chosen an original adaptation of Jekyll & Hyde as the main play to be performed and is looking for people interested in auditioning or helping out the project in other ways.

He said: “J&H was an obvious choice as its author, Robert Louis Stevenson was Scottish, and I wanted to bring a known tale to the fringe, but with my own artistic take on the story.

“We’re looking for actors and volunteers to get involved and also any local businesses interested in sponsoring our trip to the fringe in exchange for advertising.”

Prior to that the theatre group are performing a new play, Pronoun, this week at Northampton University, on Saturday April 2 at 2:30pm and 7:30pm and Sunday April 3 at 7pm of April at the Avenue Main Hall, Avenue Campus, Northampton, and tickets can be purchased on the door.

The description of Pronoun reads - Josh and Isabella are childhood sweethearts. They were meant to spend their gap year together, they were meant to be together forever. But Isabella has now become a boy. A love story about transition, testosterone, and James Dean.

“I’m really keen to bring a blend of new work and established classics to theatre audiences across Northamptonshire this year, and Pronoun is a love story with humour, drama and a fantastic directing team and cast”, said Chris, “the rest of the year looks to be very exciting with new projects and opportunities arising in Corby and Northampton, as well as Kettering, to meet the demand of people wanting to become involved with theatre”.

The Kettering theatre group are also launching after Easter a timetable of classes which range from acting/performing, dance and musical theatre, to script writing and drama school audition prep.

Chris added: “We’re launching classes from 6yrs+ all the way to adults, while providing valuable performance experience too. We have a fantastic team, a proven record of over 15 productions in 20 months and a great environment for youngsters and adults to train in”, said Chris. The classes will run across several evenings a week as well as weekend classes too and are going to be based at the North Park Pavilion, off Bath Road in Kettering.

“I’m excited about this new chapter of the theatre company as I know one complaint about most theatre classes is that they end at 18 or 21 years of age”, continued Chris, “our classes will have no barriers so there can be a natural progression into adulthood, with constant opportunities for people to audition for theatre productions, film projects and of course any fringe festivals we attend”.
