Jools Holland to return with Leo Sayer as annual tour returns to Northampton

Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra will be joined by music legend Leo Sayer on their Autumn and Winter tour will return to Royal & Derngate in November.

Now in its 24th year, highlights will include performances at London’s Royal Albert Hall and Birmingham’s Symphony Hall aside from the performance at the Northampton theatre on Sunday, November 8.

Jools and his orchestra will again feature long-term vocalist Ruby Turner as well as Louise Marshall, and original Squeeze drummer Chris Difford.

Leo Sayer’s first seven singles all reached the top 10 of the singles charts.

A prolific songwriter, he is responsible for hits including When I Need You, You Make Me Feel Like Dancing, Thunder In My Heart and many others.

Followers of Jools Holland will be familiar with his Squeeze co-founder, sometimes songwriting and touring partner Difford.

As well as his work with Glen Tilbrook in Squeeze, he’s written with Elton John, Paul Carrack, Lisa Stansfield, Bryan Ferry, Helen Shapiro, Elvis Costello and Jools Holland.

Jools is currently recording his next album which will focus on his piano stylings, some duets and collaborations with other top instrumentalists. It is due out later this year.
