A drive-in theatre weekend that is coming to Northampton this month has had to add another show due to high demand.

Car Park Party, the event that is being held at Franklin’s Gardens on Friday July 17 and Saturday July 18, includes a comedy show, an evening of music and a Horrible Histories show.

Initially the Horrible Histories: Barmy Britain show was only going to be performed once at 2.30pm on the Saturday.

However, due to high demand for tickets, an 11.30am show has also been added.

Neal Foster, manager of the Birmingham Stage Company responsible for the drive-in theatre shows, said: “We’re delighted to be putting on an extra performance in Northampton.

“It’s been one of our favourite touring towns for twenty years and has taken all our Horrible Histories shows, so we couldn’t be happier to be selling so well in Northampton.”

The show features Queen Boudicca, King Henry VIII, Guy Fawkes, Dick Turpin, Queen Victoria and a special guest appearance by King Richard III.

Social distancing measures will be adhered to throughout the weekend, including traffic management, cars parking at least two metres apart and tickets scanned through car windows.

Also adhering to guidelines, food and drink will be available and toilets will be on site with health and safety and sanitising measures in place.

Tickets can be found on the Car Park Party website.
