Formed in Liverpool in the 1980s, their debut double platinum album The Christians was released in 1987 and reached number two in the album charts.

Fronted by Garry Christian, the band released a string of albums during the 1990s, including Colour in 1990 which topped the charts and Happy In Hell in 1992. Garry, who is currently the only original member of the band, took a break from The Christians in the mid-1990s to produce his first solo album Your Cool Mystery which was released in 1998. However, they returned with Prodigal Son in 2003 with Garry’s second solo album, How Does It Feel, released in 2004

Fast forward to 2009, with a new line-up, the fifth album Soul From Liverpool was released and followed by Speed of Life in 2012 and their latest album We in 2015. The band has previously been described as ‘The Temptations in ripped jeans’. Singer Garry Christian has been a supporter of the national charity Brain Tumour Research, based in Milton Keynes, since his brother and former bandmate, Roger, died from a brain tumour. He is urging people to get behind the charity’s Wear A Hat Day on Friday, March 31.

He said: “I do still love music, otherwise I wouldn’t do it. It’s great being in the studio but my favourite part is performing on stage.” Doors open at 7.30pm, tickets cost £17.thechristianslive.co.uk
