Bands compete in Factory final at Northampton's Roadmender

Young musicians from across the county will be performing at the final of The Factory at The Roadmender on Saturday night.

Seafarer, Leo Robinson, Robyn Wilson, James Pitman, Y-Fi, Lake Acacia and Victoria Rose all made it through February’s semi-final and a series of heats held last year and will be performing in front of a panel of judges.

Hosted by Northampton Music 365, the event was started by Rotary Becket in 2004 and formerly known as the Y Factor. It was created to promote young Northamptonshire musical talent, giving performers the chance to perform at well-known local music venues.

Project manager Yoshe Watson said: “Having watched these brilliant local musicians performing during the showcase gigs and semi-finals, I’m really looking forward to watching it all come together for the big final.

“We have a fantastic music scene in Northamptonshire and these musicians are the key to keeping that growing. All of our finalists have worked really hard to get to this stage.”

Prizes include instruments, promotional material and the chance to take part in wider events being developed as part of the Northampton Music 365 scheme.

Doors open at 6.45pm, music is from 7pm. Tickets cost £5 on the door. For more details visit http://bit.ly/Factory2016
