80s acts join up for invasion tour

The '80s Invasion tour will bring together some of the decade's most memorable acts to Royal & Derngate tomorrow.

The show will feature sets by Big Country, Midge Ure, Nick Heyward and Curiosity Killed The Cat who collectively have sold more than 20 million records, clocked up 200 gold, platinum and silver discs and won numerous awards.

Formed in 1981, Big Country had many hits including In a Big Country, Fields of Fire, Wonderland and East of Eden.

Multi-award-winning musician Midge Ure’s professional career includes work with Slik, The Rich Kids, Thin Lizzy, Visage and Ultravox.

Nick Heyward’s musical career began when he formed Haircut 100 in 1981.

The band’s hits include Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl), Fantastic Day and Love Plus One.

Curiosity Killed The Cat became one of the hottest and most popular bands of the late 80s with their cool, funky, sound. Hits included Down to Earth, Ordinary Day and Name and Number.

All play the Northampton venue on Friday, March 4.
