One of most beloved detectives in fiction will be trying to crack an impossible case at an outdoor theatre show starting next week.

The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes is performed at Kirby Hall in Deene near Corby on Thursday. Detective Sherlock Holmes has a mysterious new case to investigate when summoned to a nunnery deep in the English countryside.

Holmes and his companion Dr Watson join the search for the most elusive piece of treasure known to mankind.

This year marks the 16th year of touring the UK for the Chapterhouse Theatre Company who have bought the play to life.

They aim to give literature’s best loved classics in magical outdoor performances that are great fun for all the family.
