Liberty Stars beat James King Blisworth A 3-1 in the League Cup thanks to strikes from Derrick Meth, Craig Naisiri and Bright Nemesango while a solo effort from Christopher Fury accounted for the villagers’ lone retort.
Delapre Old Boys overcame a young Thorplands Club 81 side 7-0. Gavin Hitchcock hit the target on four occasions for the champions with singles from Pierre Coleman, James Dean and Ant Kirby completing the scoring.
In group two, in-form FC Shelley Road got the better of Duston Dynamo with a 6-2 scoreline. Paul Ekins helped himself to a four-timer for the victors and was well supported with one apiece from Daniel Jones and Shaun Licorish, which left Ben Jones to net a brace for Duston. The league’s leading scorer Dan Jennings hammered in four more goals to guide JLB to a 7-2 success over Falcons United Reserves.
Aaran Goodman, Edward Hyde and Nathan Munro also got on the scoresheet for JLB, while a goal each from Richie Collier and Adam Damrell was Falcons’ reply.
