Town & District League round-up: Shelley Road edge out Thorplands to finish third

FC Shelley Road just edged out Thorplands Club 81 by the odd goal in three to finish in third place in the league.

Shelley raced into a two-goal interval lead with a goal apiece from Paul Ekins and Ashley Taylor but Thorplands pulled one back with a strike from Daniel Richards.

Delapre Old Boys eased to a 4-0 triumph over Duston Dynamo courtesy of a brace from Gavin Hitchcock and singles from Pierre Coleman and Gareth Crisp.

This victory meant the champions went through the season winning every one of their league games.

James King Blisworth A were indebted to their veteran striker Mark Pittam who grabbed both goals in their 2-1 success over Falcons United Reserves, who replied with an Adam Damrell effort.

In the Piroto Labelling League Cup, JLB got the better of Sporting Bat & Wickets 3-2.

JLB’s goals were shared between Jack Rowe, Dan Jennings and Colin Mowbray, which left Aaron Linnell and Robert Hill to hit the pub-men’s retort.
