A total of 896 players and club staff were tested across the Premiership this week and it was announced that two people, both players, had tested positive.

One of those is understood to be from Saints, and they and their close contacts will now self-isolate and be assessed in line with the guidelines.

Saints had been given the all clear last week, which was the second week of testing.

During the first week, one Saints player tested positive but was then quickly given the all clear in a second test later that week.

Saints are currently in Stage 2 training as they prepare for a return to Premiership action against Wasps at Franklin's Gardens on Sunday, August 16.
