The uncapped back row forward will be part of a 26-man training camp at Brighton College from May 17 to May 19.

Harrison has been in superb form for Saints this season, drawing plaudits galore for his performances as a flanker and a No.8.

Saints boss Jim Mallinder believes the 23-year-old, who was scouted by Dylan Hartley in New Zealand during the 2011 World Cup, is destined for a future as an international seven.

And New Zealand-born Harrison, who qualifies for England through his father, will now look to stake his claim at the training camp.

Hartley, who made his first club appearance since January 23 in the win at Gloucester on Saturday, has also been included in the squad, which does not contain any players from the teams involved in the Aviva Premiership play-offs.

Kieran Brookes, Paul Hill, Courtney Lawes and Luther Burrell are the other Saints stars who will be part of Eddie Jones’ England party.

The Red Rose take on Wales in a Old Mutual Wealth Cup match at Twickenham on May 29 before facing a three-Test tour of Australia in June.

“The Brighton training camp is a good opportunity for England to get together and train hard ahead of the Wales game and summer tour,” head coach Jones said. “While we will be without those players involved in the Premiership semi-finals it’s crucial that we spend as much time together as possible.

“We have an important game at Twickenham at the end of the month and then a challenging tour to Australia.

“It’s a challenge that really excites us and we’re looking forward to starting our preparation.

“There’s lots of hard work to be done if we are going to play with the intensity needed to beat southern hemisphere teams.

“We know the speed of the game in Australia will be considerably higher than the RBS 6 Nations, so this short camp, as well as the preparation time ahead of Wales, is going to be vital to our progression.

“Tour places are still up for grabs and I expect the players in this camp, as well as those involved in the play-offs, to continue to make their case for selection.”
