Northants Sunday Combination round-up: Fowkes bags a brace as Butcher Loco go four points clear

Butcher Loco moved four points clear at the top of division three with a 5-2 win at Brafield United.

Callum Fowkes led the way with a brace as Loco moved clear of second-placed Hartwell Forest, who were without a game.

Craig Fowkes, Andrew Heaton and Chris Fury also netted for Loco. Damien McCrystal and Jared Harewood replied for Brafield.

Third-placed Zedi United, who have four games in hand on the league leaders, stayed in touch with a 2-0 win at Royals Reserves.

Woodford United secured their first league win of the season with a 3-0 success over Northampton Hotspur. Thomas Davies (2) and Alex Kibblewhite were the men on target.

In the other division three contest, goals from Nathan Garofalo and Luke Kentish earned Thorplands Club 81 Reserves a 2-1 win at AFC Pioneers.

In the premier division, it’s as you were at thesummit with the top two of Standens Barn and Dynamo both securing three points.

Ben Foster scored twice in Barn’s 3-2 victory over FC Gallery. Charlie Wixon got the other, while Jamie Everson and Eddie Stewart replied for Gallery.

Dynamo delivered in their game against Royals, winning 4-1 with goals from Liam Grisley, James Russell and two from Dave Barrick.

Windmill Warriors’ game against St Margaret’s was postponed after Warriors were unable to field a side.

AFC Dee remain top of division one despite being held to a 0-0 draw at FC Victoria.

Second-placed Spartak, who have played four games more than AFC Dee, lost 1-0 at Wootton Fields Wanderers, who close the gap but remain in third. Sam Scarman netted the only goal of the game.

Ryan Brown hit a brace in Devonshire Club’s 3-2 win at Fox & Hounds. Dan Healy got the other.

In division two, Deers Leap followed up their excellent win over leaders Golden Horse with a 6-4 win over fellow high flyers Roade.

Danny Brown hit a hat-trick in the win, while there were also singles from Kieran Rolfe, Lee Thoms and Jerome McFarlane.

Karl Hoy (2), Ben Carter and George Wingrove netted in vain for Roade.

FC Jeckyll bounced back from their 8-1 defeat to Roade with a 4-1 victory at Billing United.

Chris Wilson scored for the home side but goals from Sam Anderson (2), Mathew Pheely and Anthony Smith secured the points for Jeckyll.

In division four, AFC Thorpe recorded their seventh league win in nine this season with a 2-1 victory over league leaders Billing United Reserves.

Byron O’Regan was the match-winner, netting both of Thorpe’s goals.

Goals from Michael Winch and Matt Roberts were not enough to prevent Hartwell Forest Reserves from a 4-2 home defeat to Welland Valley, who move up to seventh.

Bottom club Vesta had another morning to forget as they suffered a 9-0 tonking at home to Thorplands Club 81 A.

Kingsthorpe Wanderers are through to the semi-finals of the Parker League Cup following a 4-2 success at Manfield Rangers.

Mark Faulkner, Jonathan Shakespeare, Kane Reynolds and Ashley Clamp all netted for the visitors.
