Northampton have won on two of their three Aviva Premiership visits to the ground, which was opened in January 2013.

The artificial surface has appeared to suit Saints in previous meetings and they have been improving their attacking game in recent weeks.

Mallinder’s men have beaten Harlequins, London Irish and Worcester during the past four matches, with a one-point defeat at Newcastle Falcons the only blot on the copybook.

And Mallinder said: “We’ve won three from four now so that’s good.

“We’re disappointed we couldn’t just sneak that win up at Newcastle, but it is a difficult place to play and now we’ve got Sarries.

“They’re still top of the league and they drew up at Sale so they’re always going to be a challenge.

“It’s always going to be a really tough game, but we’ve been down there before and we’ve won down there before, so we can do it again.”
