Fotuali'i focusing on Saints success rather than his own future

Kahn Fotuali'i says he is loving his time at Saints and is leaving '˜the agents and businessmen' to sort out his future.

Fotuali’i’s Northampton contract expires this summer and he has been linked with a move to Bath.

But he insists he has nothing on his mind other than helping Saints to claim glory in the Aviva Premiership and Champions Cup this season.

And when asked whether he will be leaving the club this summer, the 33-year-old, who moved to Saints from Ospreys in 2013, said: “Hopefully not.

“I’m focusing on our season here and trying to help the team get into the top four, then we’ll see what happens.

“I’ve loved it here, every minute of it, and I still am. It’s a great place, great team, great club, great people.

“We’ll just let the agents and businessmen sort everything else out.”

Fotuali’i started for Saints in their 28-6 defeat at Wasps on Sunday.

Jim Mallinder’s men could only muster two Stephen Myler penalties at the Ricoh Arena, where Rob Miller scored twice for Wasps and Jamie Stevenson once.

And Fotuali’i said: “I’m a bit gutted. It was very disappointing.

“You never want to lose a game and this scoreline didn’t show how hard our boys worked.

“They scored a few nice tries, but the scoreline didn’t show how hard we worked.

“Wasps are a quality side and they defended really well.

“We tried to exploit it by putting a few balls in behind, but credit to their defence. They put us under pressure and we didn’t capitalise.”
