Sampson 'delighted' as Cobblers welcome eight new scholars into youth team

Eight youngsters join the club's youth ranks

The Cobblers academy will welcome eight new full-time scholars into their youth team for the 2020/21 season.

The new full-time scholars are:

TOMMY CURRY - Tommy is a local lad from Northampton who plays as a left-winger or midfield player.

JACK CONNOR - Jack is another local lad, a striker from Northampton.

KIERAN WATKINS-ROBINSON - Kieran is a right-winger or midfield player who also comes from Northampton.

ETHAN LACK - Ethan is a midfield player from Northampton.

PETER ABIMBOLA.- Peter is a midfielder who is also from Northampton.

CHARLIE WOODS - Charlie is a goalkeeper who comes from Coventry.

CALLUM COOK = Callum is another goalkeeper and he comes from the West Midlands.

COURTNEY LASHLEY - Courtney is a defender who comes from Hinckley.

"I am delighted to welcome the boys into their full-time scholarships," said academy manager Ian Sampson.

"Most of these boys have grown up with the club having come through the academy over the last few years and they are ready to become full-time scholars as the next step of their journey.

"A lot of hard work lies ahead both on and off the field and the boys know that as a club, we expect the highest of standards, day in and day out.

"They have all got a lot of ability and we look forward to working with these boys on a full time basis to give them every support and opportunity to continue their development."
