Ryan Watson scored a late third to cap an impressive performance as Town kept themselves four points from safety. Here are our player ratings...

Rescued by his woodwork on two occasions in the first-half but made a brilliant and crucial stop just after the restart, though in truth Vincent-Young shouldn't have given him a chance. Solid night's work all told. Kicking was much better.. 8.5
Some return to the team! His two goals, scored in identical fashion, set Cobblers well on their way. Immense at the back, he's a real athlete and hardly loses a defensive duel, either aerially or on the ground. Town need him fit for Saturday... 9.5 CHRON STAR MAN

Encountered some awkward moments, particularly during Ipswich's bright start, but defended his six-yard box robustly and led the defensive rearguard after half-time as Town saw out another clean sheet, their 12th of the season.... 8
Back to his resolute best after an off night at Posh. Easy to forget given the eventual margin of victory but he made two vital interventions when Town led by only one goal. Was invariably in the right place at the right time to snuff out the danger... 8.5
Set up Kioso's double with two excellent corners and would have notched a third first-half assist had Jones glanced in his pinpoint cross. Ipswich got behind him a couple of times but he tightened things up after the break... 8.5
Did a lot of good and important defensive work early on as Ipswich started the game on top. Tracked back to stop counter-attacks and then dug in during the second-half when the visitors dominated possession but struggled to create many chances... 8
Went about his work quietly but effectively and he too was key in preventing dangerous Ipswich attacks from developing further. Broke up play regularly and got about the pitch well. As usual he was Town's busiest man on the ball... 8
Was heavily involved in the first-half as Town repeatedly posed problems for Ipswich. Forced Holy into a good stop and helped create chances for others. Stayed composed and calm to score his ninth of the season... 8.5
Unlucky not to register an assist when his excellent pass set up a fine chance for Chukwuemeka. His running and pressing gave Ipswich grief all night... 7.5
Combined well with Jones up top and only denied a goal by Ward's fabulous last-ditch block. You can see why managers are frustrated by his ill-discipline out of possession though and that led to his early withdrawal in the second-half... 7.5
He has given Cobblers a focal point and something to play off up front. So many of their best moments and chances came from his strong hold-up play. You can't help but think where they'd be had he been available all season... 8
He was introduced to make sure Cobblers kept their discipline as much as anything, though he did have a couple of bursts on the ball, albeit to no avail... 6.5
Replaced Jones in the latter stages... 6
Helped see out the clean sheet after replacing the injured Kioso... 6.5
