Unfortunate to see Vale's two goals squirm through his body despite getting a healthy touch to both. Not properly tested otherwise, though too many kicks flew out of play... 6
Penalty call was soft at best but he got the wrong side of his man and gave the referee a decision to make. Occasional forward bursts too often ended with poor delivery... 4

Fine tackle looked to have seen off the danger, only for Goode to concede a penalty moments later. Wasn't on the same wavelength as his centre-back partner and dithered in possession... 4
Made it too easy for Worrall to skirt through the heart of Town's defence and race away on goal. Then squandered a fine chance to restore the lead shortly after half-time... 4
Had to be more combative to stop Worrall running between him and Pierre. Symbolic of an afternoon when the home defence didn't make life hard enough for visiting forwards... 5
Seems to have lost his mojo these past couple of games. Lack of movement in front of him didn't help but passing was either erratic or cautious, and he struggled to contain Vale's midfield, especially the dangerous Worrall... 4
First appearance since mid-February and started brightly enough but didn't give Cobblers the control or quality they required in midfield, particularly when Vale were down a man, leading to his substitution... 5
His early opener gave Cobblers the ideal start and it was the type of poacher's goal he needs to score more of. Almost had another not long after. Crossing was either very poor or very good, mostly the former... 6
One of several superb balls into the box created havoc and saw Hoskins eventually prod home. Started and ended Town's best move too when slashing wide. Would profit from a run in the number 10 position... 6 CHRON STAR MAN
Supplied a lovely ball into Bridge for a first-half chance but his influence on the game waned and it was his poor touch on halfway which allowed Vale to regain possession for their equaliser... 5
Dragged down by Legge just as he seemed set to run through and score. Not much else for the striker to write home about before his premature withdrawal, at least judging by the reaction of home supporters... 5
Gave Cobblers some energy and impetus in the middle, though not enough to alter the course of the game... 6
Sent on to provide some extra creativity but struggled to do so... 5
His first act as a substitute was to lose possession, a costly mistake as Vale broke and were awarded the winning penalty. Off the pace throughout his short cameo... 5
