Basement boys Long Buckby were denied a shock win by an injury time Cogenhoe leveller on Tuesday night.

Karl Bates headed the home side in front with a 14th-minute header from a Chris Davies free-kick.

Ed Kostiuk levelled with a 20th-minute penalty.

Five minutes before the break Elliott Herbert fired Buckby ahead from distance.

Substitute Shane Lyons (pictured) saved the Cooks’ blushes three minutes into added time.

Spencer moved smoothly into the promotion places with a 3-0 win over Raunds Town at Kingsthorpe Mill.

Ryan Lovell, who scored four times in the earlier Kiln Park meeting of the clubs, set the ball rolling with the home opener after 40 minutes.

Defender Alex Lowery doubled the home lead in the dying seconds of the first half.

Lowery’s second goal after 69 minutes sealed the outcome of the contest.

Olney conceded a late equaliser as they shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Potton.

Defender Jason Goldman gave Olney the lead four minutes in with a header.

Dean Hamilton earned the Roya a point with an 83rd-minute leveller.
