No broken bones is positive news for Cobblers midfielder McCourt

Cobblers boss Rob Page today confirmed the news after the player underwent an X-ray on the shoulder injury.

McCourt was injured late in the game as he landed awkwardly after heading a corner away, leading referee Carl Henry to end the game a few minutes early to allow the former Leicester City youngster to receive lengthy treatment on the pitch.

While the full extent of the shoulder injury isn’t yet confirmed, Page says that the result of the initial X-ray is positive.

“Jak hasn’t broken any bones, which is good news,” said the Cobblers boss.

“We think his shoulder may have popped out and gone straight back in again, so he will be having an MRI scan to see if there is any ligament or muscle damage in the area.

“We may not know the results of that scan until Thursday, but for now we are pleased and relieved that he didn’t suffer any broken bones.”
