New signing Mickel Miller wants to provide the Cobblers with an injection of pace, goals and assists after joining the club on loan from Rotherham United this week.

The 25-year-old, who can play all across the front line, has been brought in to help solve Cobblers' ongoing problems in front of goal this season.

Town are the lowest scorers in League One with just 19 goals but Miller, plus fellow new signing Ryan Edmondson, should provide some extra firepower up front.

"I don't like saying too much about myself but I know I can bring some pace and skill and hopefully some goals as well," said Miller.

"I don't really have a preferred position. I'm happy to play across the front three - left-wing, right-wing or up top, I don't mind. Keith has told me what he thinks I'm capable of doing and I don't need to prove myself.

"He wants me to come in, be relaxed and do what he knows I can do and I've got to keep that hunger which he's seen in me before.

"I just want to play week in, week out and make an immediate impact and help the team and contribute with goals and assists."

Miller's move to Northampton has been long in the making. He was heavily linked with the club whilst with Scottish side Hamilton Academical but chose to sign for Rotherham instead.

"I've always been linked with Northampton and I've had a good relationship with Keith, which was a big reason for coming here," added Miller. "There's always been that interest in coming to this club.

"I also played with Ricky Korboa when I was at Carshalton and we did well together there and now we're living the dream because we always said that we would love to play together in a professional team and now we have the chance to do that. It's a great opportunity."
