McCourt was ruled out of Tuesday night's trip to Swindon Town after suffering a concussion during the second half of last Saturday's 4-0 win over Southend United at Sixfields.

The former Barnsley man was due to resume non-contact training on Thursday, and providing that goes smoothly then he will be back in full training on Friday and be available for selection for the match against the Gas.

"Jak will step his work up today and will go out and do some unopposed work," said Town manager Rob Page on Thursday morning.

"With concussions now, and rightly so, there is a protocol we have to stick to.

"I think Jak will be in full-time training on Friday, so he will be eligible for Saturday's match."

Elsewhere on the injury front, Alfie Potter is also available for the clash with Bristol Rovers after recovering from illness and a slight groin strain, but Raheem Hanley is still unavailable as he is nursing a hamstring strain.

"Raheem is coming on and he is getting there, but he is probably still a few days away from joining back in full-time," said Page.
