The safety certificate has been granted and the structure can now be used for Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two game against Notts County.

Cobblers could celebrate promotion at the end of that encounter if they win, Accrington Stanley lose and Bristol Rovers fail to win.

And chairman Kelvin Thomas is now looking forward to seeing fans in the East Stand for the first time since it was erected.

“It’s been a long wait for fans to be able to sit back in the East Stand and we are very pleased to have been able to get this phase of the development completed sooner than expected,” Thomas said.

“It is going to be wonderful to see fans enjoying that stand again and hopefully celebrating the end of this fantastic season.

“I think the seats look great and really appreciate the support from some of our partners too with the new advertising on the fencing behind.

“There has been a lot of hard work from a lot of people making all this happen including the club staff, our main construction partner Buckingham Group, plus MSS Scaffolding and Signs Express.

“Special mention also goes to the Safety Advisory Group ensuring that we were compliant and helping us achieve our certificate in the time frames involved.

“It’s now up to us all together to ensure that we fill as many of these seats as possible to support the team in these final few games, so get your family and friends along to enjoy what could become some historic games in the club’s history.”

Tickets for the newly-installed East Stand seats are on sale to home supporters only from 7.30pm on Thursday evening via www.ntfcdirect.co.uk
