Keith Curle described himself as 'delighted' to finally get his man after Cobblers agreed a deal with Rotherham United to sign Mickel Miller on loan for the rest of the season.

Town were heavily linked with the 25-year-old attacker in the summer of 2019 and again the following year but after leaving Hamilton Academical, it was Championship side Rotherham who signed him on a two-year deal in July.

But Miller has only played nine times for the Millers this season and with Curle still interested in his services, a move to the PTS, if only temporary, has finally been agreed.

Explaining what he likes about Miller, Curle said: "Mickel is a player we have been tracking for some time and we are delighted to be able to bring him to the club.

"He has attributes that we think can improve us. He is a tricky player with a lot of pace who can play either wide or centrally. He is a goal threat himself and he is also a player who can create opportunities for others.

"He also works really hard when his team does not have the ball and that is something we demand of every player who represents Northampton Town.

"I like his attitude and his desire. He was willing to take the chance of moving up from London to Scotland early in his career to take the opportunity of joining Hamilton and that sort of character is something that appeals to me. We think he is an excellent fit for us."
