LOOKING FOR A NEW CLUB - Arron Davies has left the Cobblers

MIDFIELDER Arron Davies has left the Cobblers after having his contract at Sixfields terminated.

The former Yeovil Town and Peterborough United man signed for Town last summer on a two-year deal.

A Wales international, Davies was expected to be the playmaker in the team being put together by then manager Gary Johnson, but failed to make the desired impression.

Davies did make 18 appearances for the club and scored four goals, but once Johnson was sacked, he found his first team opportunities were limited.

New boss Aidy Boothroyd did offer Davies the chance to cement his place in the team after he took over at the helm, but Davies played his final game in the 3-2 New Years’s Eve defeat to Swindon Town.

He regularly travelled with the team for away fixtures after that, but was never selected again.

Davies is now a free agent and is able to sign for a new club, and it has been reported that he will be on his way to npower League Two side Exeter City.
