The Cobblers have suffered yet another injury blow with the news that winger Kaid Mohamed has suffered a broken metatarsal.

Mohamed was injured after coming on as a substitute in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Southend United, and will now be out of action for the next three months.

The Port Vale loan man underwent surgery earlier this week, and manager Chris Wilder admits his absence is going to be a blow for him, the player, and the team.

“It is obviously a blow to us and for Kaid,” said manager Chris Wilder.

“He will be missing until early April and that is a real shame.

“He had surgery to repair the break this week and the focus now is getting him back firing for the final few weeks of the season.”

Mohamed was signed on a season-long loan deal in the summer.

He has made 20 starts and eight substitute appearances to date this season, scoring five goals.
